Collins Counseling Center has been able to hire several qualified therapists who add a great deal of expertise and experience to the Center.
My name is Amy Burley. I am a compassionate and practical therapist who is passionate about walking alongside my clients to help them find immediate improvements in coping and the ability to heal long-held trauma. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Licensed School Counselor who has worked in schools, prevention programs for at-risk youth, non-profit agencies, and private practice settings. I have helped many clients find relief, hope, and healing for a range of concerns (Depression, anxiety, academic concerns, self-esteem issues, relational conflicts, grief, anger, self-harm, life adjustments, and prior trauma). My therapeutic style involves offering insight-based talk therapy and experiential modalities of Sandtray, expressive arts, and Play Therapy to help Clients access inner parts of themselves and find resolution to present concerns or long-held trauma.
Additionally, I offer parent coaching, helping parents gain insights and skills to increase parent effectiveness and strengthen the attachment bond between parent and child. I am a former educator and school counselor, and have completed extensive training in Play Therapy for children.
Due to Amy's associate status, we are unable to accept insurance for her services. Her services will be offered at a rate of $60 per session for traditional therapy and play therapy.
She is supervised by Maribel Corona, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S, License 68163
